If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover." And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble." (the message)This stuck out to me tonight, the concept of God as a Jealous lover is a little...uncomfortable sometimes, because for God to be a lover and a jealous one at that, makes me realise how much less I deserve to be loved. It's one thing to not always be intune with what a master tells you, but when He's your lover the betrayal is so much worse. The fact that God is willing to accept people that do cheat on him all the time is nothing short of amazing. Grace is a beautiful word. |
